A protected area Established 4 May 1979 that aims to protect the natural features as well as the defense of the existing architectural heritage in the mountains of Aire and Candeeiros, having an area of 38 900 hectares.

​Pia do Urso
Set in an area steeped in history, Pia do Urso, in the parish of São Mamede, offers visitors a truly dazzling natural landscape, where they can admire the magnificent restoration work on the typical houses of this rustic region, where stone and wood are the main materials used.
This restored village is also home to the first SENSORY ECO-PARK for the visually impaired in Portugal. A novel concept, which aims to offer these citizens the possibility of apprehending their surroundings making use of the other senses, in particular touch and smell.

​Pegadas dos dinossauros
The Natural Monument of Dinosaur Footprints Ourem / or Torres Novas Natural Monument of the Dinosaur Footprints of Serra de Aire, known only by Footprints of Serra de Aire was created in 1996 by Decree 12/96 of 22 October. As the name implies, is located in Portugal, the Serra de Aire, near Fátima, in the municipalities of Ourém and Torres Novas and is part of the Natural Park of Serra de Aire and Lamps, occupying an area of about 20 hectares.
​Grutas da moeda

The Coin Caves (Grutas da Moeda) are located in S. Mamede, municipality of Batalha, only 2 km away from Fátima. It was discovered in 1971, as two huntsmen chased a fox and saw it enter through an opening under the bushes. Moved by curiosity, they decided to enter the galleries filled with beautiful limestone formations.
